Moonlit River in Spring (Chun Jiang Hua Yue Ye, 春江花月夜, 琵琶曲) was originated from the lute music “Flutes and Drums at Sunset” (“Xunyang Lute”, “Xunyang in Moonlight”). In 1925, it was adapted by Liu Yaozhang, a member of Shanghai’s Datong Music Conservatory, into a piece of China nationalities orchestra.
