Autumn Wind Song ( 秋风词, Qiu Feng Ci, Guqin, 古琴曲)

Autumn Wind Song ( 秋风词, Qiu Feng Ci, Guqin, 古琴曲) is based on the  lyrics of the   famous poem (see below) by Li Bo (701-762).  In 1910s, Wang Yanqing (1867—1921) composed it based on several old score sheets.

《秋风词》古琴曲中的著名小曲之一。谱本出自民国初年《梅庵琴谱》。山东诸城派王鲁宾传谱,由弟子徐卓、邵森编订,1931年初版。这是一首以闺怨为内容的琴曲。

秋风清,秋月明。
落叶聚还散,寒鸦栖复惊。
相思相见知何日,此时此夜难为情。
入我相思门,知我相思苦。
长相思兮长相忆,短相思兮无穷极。
早知如此绊人心,何如当初莫相识。

Autumn wind is fresh
Autumn moon is bright
Falling leaves gathered and scattered
Trembling crows perched and startled

When will we meet and be intimate again?
This moment tonight I cannot express my feeling
If you entered my deep mood of longing
You would understand my suffering for yearning
Long yearning recalls long memories
Short yearning has no end

If I knew my thought of you
would be like this so tangled
Wouldn‘t it be better we had never acquainted
Might as well we had never acquainted
